The days are getting shorter and the weather's getting colder, but don’t go into hibernation just yet! This fall holds the promise of some great architectural events you won’t want to miss. We all had a blast spending the morning with him out at the New York Harbor School on Governors Island and then shooting some B-Roll with him at the Esplanade at the World Financial Center in Battery Park (which he was responsible for helping get built!) along with some additional shots with his enthusiastic staff at the Urban Assembly offices downtown.
We're looking forward to yet another year of videos to premiere this October in front of 1000+ leaders in the local building industry at the AIANY's annual Heritage Ball.
Last night one of our recent videos premiered at the Harlem Edge Exhibition at the Center for Architecture. The video explores the recent biennial ideas competition that the Emerging New York Architects (ENYA) held recently for an abandoned Marine Transfer Station (aka pier to transfer trash from dumptrucks to barges back when the landfill at Fresh Kills was open) at 135th Street in Harlem along the Hudson. With almost 100 entries the turnout was a massive crowd full of young Architects and designers that couldn't helped but to be lured in by the free open bar. I got a lot of positive feedback on the video and we're pretty happy with the way it turned out.
