ENIGMA: STEAMPUNK-THEMED CAFE
We came across this video on Collosal and thought we had to share it. The video gives a glimpse into a new cafe in Romania called Enigma. The cafe is steampunk-themed including kinetic works of art and found mechanical objects. Pretty cool stuff, check it out. CHICAGO ARCHITECTURE BIENNIAL
Courtesy: Arbuckle Industries We were in Chicago last week covering the first ever Chicago Architecture Biennial. Chicago is the first American city to launch an architectural biennial of this size. The event was established in order to provide a public platform for architectural projects and installations, similar to that of the Venice Bienniale (which we covered last year). Chicago definitely made sense as a host city as it is centrally located, has strong ties to the archi

NYC ARCHITECTURAL EVENTS THIS OCTOBER
The days are getting shorter and the weather's getting colder, but don’t go into hibernation just yet! This fall holds the promise of some great architectural events you won’t want to miss. PRODUCTION STILLS AT 41 COOPER SQUARE WITH THOM MAYNE
We got to interview Pritzker Prize winning architect, Thom Mayne of Morphosis again this past week. This time it is for a production we are making for Cooper Union to act as a recruitment tool for potential students to the university along with allowing the public to get a tour of the building which is not frequently accessible due to its high-volume, private academic uses. Not really sure what's going on here but I think this was when we were discussing our Blackmagic Produ

SEAPORT STUDIOS
A few months back our longtime friend and very talented photographer, Matt Furman reached out to us about a new space being designed and built in the historic South Street Seaport district. We always love any opportunity to work with the Matt, and who doesn’t love New York’s seedy Seaport history, so we instantly had a meeting on the calendar to hear more. Flash forward a couple weeks where we came to learn about The Seaport Studio - a new retail concept store being developed

A PRESENTATION ON HOW TO USE VIDEO TO SHOWCASE YOUR ARCHITECTURAL WORK
photo by Ari Burling Every year, the University of Minnesota’s School of Architecture, College of Design, puts on a week long event called “Catalyst.” This event brings new ideas and conversations to the table by inviting professionals in the field of architecture and design to give public lectures and conduct week-long courses with first and second year graduate architecture students. This year, Arbuckle’s own Ian Harris had the opportunity to speak while teaching a class

ARCHITECTURAL DRONE VIDEOGRAPHY TIPS
Photo Credit: Diyphotography.net Architectural cinematography has lots of great qualities. It doesn’t mess up it’s lines, show up late, and it’s not prone to change. However, capturing architecture in a dynamic way can present challenges due to the size, form and volume of most buildings. Portions of buildings can be challenging to access, establishing viewpoints can be difficult to capture, and parallel surfaces can become substantially distorted. Thankfully, there are, lite
