CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF ADA ACT
GOOGLE recently commissioned 72AndSunny to do a series of outdoor ad campaigns celebrating the 25th anniversary of the landmark ADA Act in 1990. The painted portraits include key figures in the disability rights movement which were featured on the steps of cultural buildings throughout Washington, D.C. The paintings are accompanied by powerful quotations and information pertaining to the disabilities rights movement. A website was created providing a virtual tour of each individual piece. This installation is a great reminder of how public space can be used to inspire, facilitate and enhance people’s experience with their surroundings. It also is a great example of how marketing can be incorporated into the phsyical environment in a tasteful way.
